ACE Cash Express Supports Mission to Advocate for People with Down Syndrome
During ACE's annual Give A Little Campaign, ACE raised $68,303 in support of the National Down Syndrome Society's (NDSS) mission to be the national advocate for the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
"Some of our employees, myself included, have children with Down syndrome, so this fundraiser has really meant a lot to us," said Chris Brooks, Region Vice President of ACE. "The Give A Little Campaign is a great chance for employees to raise money for charities that they are passionate about, and I’m thrilled that more than 250 stores chose the National Down Syndrome Society."
The Give A Little Campaign is a national in-store fundraiser that supports charities that are chosen by ACE employees. ACE stores in the Northeastern U.S. chose to support NDSS and raised $68,303, thanks to the generosity of employees and customers.
In addition to the in-store fundraiser, employees supporting NDSS held a luau-themed dinner for customers, employees and families with children who have Down syndrome.
"We are beyond grateful for our partnership with ACE Cash Express," said NDSS President Sara Hart Weir. "Not only does their support provide NDSS with funds to further our important mission, but they also raise awareness across the country about our organization and promote the importance of
inclusion across all aspects of society."
The 2015 Give A Little Campaign is providing more than $447,000 to charities across the country, including: AdoptAClassroom.org, Autism Speaks, Back on My Feet, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, National Down Syndrome Society, Providence House and Stars Scholarship Fund. This fundraiser is a part of ACE’s charitable-giving program, the ACE Community Fund, which has donated more than $9.7 million to organizations throughout the nation since 2004.
